Long Term Community Support (LTCS)

The Long Term Community Support Program (LTCS) provides organized developmental activities designed to prepare the individual to live and work as independently as possible. LTCS offers a diverse variety of specific services and activities. These include vocational evaluation and training, paid work, personal and community living skills, development, adult basic education, long-term support and leisure activities. The amount of time devoted to these areas varies considerably depending on the needs of those being served. Individuals are encouraged to move to a higher level of service as their skills develop. To be eligible for LTCS, an individual must have a diagnosed developmental disability.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR)

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program (PSR) is designed to help adults with psychiatric disabilities increase their functioning so they can be successful and satisfied in the environments of their choice. It focuses on restoration of skills which allow the beneficiary to live as independently as possible, manage their illness and re-establish their community roles.

Day Supports (DS)

The Day Supports Services (DS) allows for all supports services provided on behalf of an individual in a day setting to be delivered under one service heading and reported in a daily record. Individual services are generally understood as habilitation/support services such as assistance with retention or improvement in self-help, socialization and adaptive skills which take place in a non-residential setting. Day Supports services focus on enabling the individual to attain or maintain a maximum functional level and is coordinated with other services listed in the individual’s service plan.

Innovations (I/DD)

The Innovations Service is a special Medicaid community care funding source designed to give persons with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities a cost effective alternative to care in an intermediate care facility. The goal is to allow all individuals to return to the community and or live with as much independence as possible. Individuals participating in this service train with a staff member one-on-one or in a small group.

Compensatory Education and Adult Basic Education

McDowell Technical Community College supports staff positions who teach classes at JobLink. These teachers assist Foothills Industries participants with all phases of learning from basic self-help, independence to community living skills.
