Company History

Foothills Industries began operating, under the auspices of Foothills Area Program, in the old facility 

A corporation was formed in order to borrow monies for a new facility
 

A new 8,000 square foot facility was constructed and began operations at 312 Lukin Street
 

Constructed a 10,000 square foot building to house a new Adult Developmental Vocational Program
 

Added a 1,200 square foot office addition  

Added 4,400 square feet to existing building to expand medical drape production

Separated from Foothills Area Program and became a private, non-profit operation

 The program became accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) 

A 9,600 square foot, free-standing warehouse was completed
 

Received 11 acres from McDowell County and began construction of a 40,000 square foot facility in the county’s industrial park
 

Received 510(k) Certificate from the Food and Drug Administration to market non-sterile drapes and utility covers
 

In November, moved into a new facility at 300 Rockwell Drive  

Assumed operation of the former McDowell Opportunities (Adult Developmental Vocational Program) 

Expanded Medical Drape production by partnering with the MARC Custom Medical Products (MCMP) Initiative

Awarded SHARP Safety recognition by N.C. Department of Labor as one of approximately 100 in the state   

ISO 13485:2003 Registered

Partnered with Vocational Rehabilitation to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) at McDowell High School in Marion, NC.

Added Long Term Community Support, Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services and Day Supports to our Services Department    

Partnered with Vocational Rehabilitation to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) at Chase High School in Rutherford County, NC.

Partnered with Vocational Rehabilitation to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) at Freedom and Draughn High Schools in Morganton, NC and East Rutherford High School in Rutherford County, NC.

Partnered with Vocational Rehabilitation to provide Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) at Patton High School in Morganton, NC and RS Central High School in Rutherfordton, NC.
